VietNamNet Bridge - A US business delegation, led by the Commerce Department Secretary, plans to seek investment opportunities in Vietnam in a visit this November, according to the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

VCCI, in collaboration with the US Embassy, will hold a meeting between the Vietnamese and the US businesses on this occasion.

According to VCCI Chairman Vu Tien Loc, the chamber is speeding up the establishment of a Vietnam-US business forum.

Right after the signing of Vietnam-US bilateral trade agreement, Vietnamese exports to the US have seen a big increase.
Vietnam’s exports to the US witnessed an eight-fold rise after five years and the US has become Vietnam’s largest exporting market, accounting over 20 percent of the country’s export value.

According to the Foreign Investment Department under the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s statistics, by the end of August, US ranked seventh among 77 foreign investors in Vietnam with 354 valid projects worth nearly 2.6 billion USD.
