VietNamNet Bridge - A seminar on Vietnam ’s business and investment environment has recently concluded in Japan ’s northernmost prefecture of Hokkaido .

HCM City, the commercial hub of Vietnam
Speaking at the seminar, Vietnamese ambassador to Japan Chu Tuan Cap highlighted Vietnam ’s ideal geographical location, low-cost work force, aggressive investment incentives, the country’s rapid integration process and stable political situation as being advantageous areas for foreign investors to exploit.

The ambassador also spoke of some of the country’s weaknesses that he hoped Japan would help to address that included a lack of infrastructure, a shortage of experienced management capability and a dearth of service and support industries.

Hiroyuki Yushita, former Japanese ambassador to Vietnam and acting president of the Japan-Vietnam Committee for Economic and Cultural Exchange, said that Vietnam would become a more attractive investment destination after the East-West corridor has been completed and put into operation.

Ambassador Cap met with Noboru Arashida, deputy governor of Hokkaido prefecture; the mayor of Sapporo and Iwao Takamuki, President of Sapporo Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Japanese officials said that they were eager to explore a stronger investment, commerce and tourism partnership with the Southeast Asian country.
