On March 12, the Hanoi Tourism Corporation (Hanoitourism) and the Da Nang People’s Committee signed a memorandum of understanding on the investment in a sea high-grade tourism complex, which will cover an area of 7ha in Hoa Hai ward, Ngu Hanh Son district in Da Nang City. The project is estimated to cost $25mil.

As planned, at the end of September 2007, Hanoitourism will start the construction of the sea tourism complex. The travel corporation has decided to give a donation of VND1bil to the Da Nang’s Fund for Women and Unlucky Children Support. This sum of money will be used to purchase healthcare equipments to be installed at the Da Nang’s Hospital for Poor Women.

The Office of the Da Nang People’s Committee has also informed the decision of the committee on approving the architectural design for the trade – hotel complex, which is expected to cover an area of 18,000 sq m on the turning point of the Pham Van Dong road and the coastal road Son Tra – Dien Ngoc. The investor of the project is the Hanoi Investment, Trade and Finance Consultancy Company (ATS).

Da Nang authority allows ARS to set up a complex of a four star 33 storey hotel, a 23 storey office building, a 8 storey supermarket, and a 22 storey apartment building.

In the first phase of the project, ATS will develop the hotel and apartment building which cover an area of 4,155 sq m, which are estimated to cost VND499bil ($31mil). The project is expected to kick off in the second quarter of 2007 and become operational in 2009-2010.
