VietNamNet Bridge – The government covers all expenses for APEC so hotels are requested to use special room management mechanism for APEC guests, said an official of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).

Do Thi Xoan, Head of the VNAT’s Hotel Department raised this requirement in a meeting with over 40 hotels in Hanoi to discuss serving activities for APEC delegates held on November 7 in Hanoi.

VNAT asked hotels to not raise room or service prices during the APEC week. For example, normally guests must return the rooms at noon but if for some reasons they return the room at 6pm of the same day hotels must not to charge more.

Related to food for APEC leaders and delegates, Ms Xoan urged hotels to change cuisines very often and pay attention to guests who are on a diet or have special regimens.

As of November 7, the VNAT’s inspectors have come to hotels to check their preparations for the APEC week.
