HCM City hosts Vietnam-APEC 2006 Trade Fair
VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnam-APEC 2006 Trade Fair will be held November 11-19 in Tao Dan Park in HCM City.
The exhibition, organised by the CAT Fair and Exhibition Co. will feature 700 stalls from 21 APEC economic members, as well as cultural activities to represent Vietnam and other APEC members' Traditions, trade promotion activities and educational seminars.
Nghe An projects higher wood exports
Nghe An Province projects to earn US$25mil from the export of wood products, accounting for 11% of the province's export turnover.
The province has issued incentives to lure investors and supports enterprises in tariffs and labour costs.
Nghe An earned $6.5mil from timber exports through October of this year, marking a 42% year-on-year increase.
Electronics equipment factory opens in Hai Phong
Tohoku Pioneer Vietnam opened its electronics equipment and components factory in Noruma Industrial Zone in the northern port city of Hai Phong last Friday.
The new factory's major products include various kinds of mobile phone loudspeakers, electronics display screens and other products.
Tohoku Pioneer Vietnam, wholly invested by Japan's Tohoku Pioneer Group, has a registered capital of US$39mil.
Companies chosen for Japan Home and Building Show
The trade, investment and tourism promotion co-operation programme between ASEAN - Japan Centre (AJC) chose four Vietnamese enterprises to the Japan Home and Building Show 2006 in Tokyo, Japan.
Four enterprises Include: Secoin Co Ltd. Viglacera Corp, Ha Long Viglacera Co and Viet Collection Co.
The six-day show, starting from November 13, is a part of the activities of AJC to encourage the Vietnamese enterprises export to the Japan market.
Habubank to increase chartered capital
The Ha Noi Building Joint Stock Commercial Bank (Habubank) has announced it will increase its chartered capital to VND900bil (US$56.3mil), three times higher than at the end of 2005.
This would make Habubank the 4th largest commercial joint stock bank in Vietnam in terms of chartered capital.
The bank's total assets were estimated to reach VND12tril ($750mil) in 2006, a 120% increase over 2005. The bank expected to reach a charted capital of at least VND1tril ($62.5mil) by the end of 2006.
