VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnamese vessel carrying rice that was impounded on September 26 by Philippine customs has been released, announced the Vietnam Food Association.

Philippine customs agents had accused sailors on this ship, named Xuan Viet from Hai Phong City, of stealing and illegally selling a volume of rice, around 26 sacks of the total 70,000 sacks, exported to the National Food Agency (NFA) of the Philippines.

However, according to the Vietnam Food Association, information about the ‘rice stealing’ reported in some foreign newspapers was incorrect.
