Sex spammers now handing out books at school

VietNamNet Bridge - Sex spammers in Vietnam are finding new ways to deliver their message – this time handing books directly to school children.

As texters, emailers and internet users become more vigilant and the government crack downs - spammers are looking to new means.

Instead of sending advertisements they have resorted to printing books. While the cover advertises services like ringtones, phone wallpapers and holds tones – inside is a different matter.

Alongside messages like: “How to make it longer” and “How to make her achieve orgasm” are sexy images.

Tuan Linh, from the Transportation University in Hanoi, said he has received the books several times at school, presented by visiting marketing men.

Elsewhere parents also complained these books were delivered at high schools. A mother named Vu Tuyet Mai from Dong Da District, Hanoi, said several times she intercepted books from marketing men while waiting for her daughter in front of Nguyen Binh Khiem high school.

Mai said she felt embarrassed reading the book, which instructs readers how to learn “secrets to “satisfy him” and how to “make her achieve orgasm seven times at once” as well as “Ten ways to make him satisfied without making love”.

“I’m worried that my daughter reads this stuff,” says Mai

Another mother, whose son is a student of Nguyen Binh Khiem high school, said that it is good to educate children about sex but not in this way.

“This kind of advertisement was always on mobile phones before. I don’t know why it has appeared again in this form,” she said.

The director of a Hanoi-based content service providing company explained: “Revenue has been down in recent months so small companies are seeking to increase their revenue, including this form of advertising”.

Managers of the three largest mobile phones in Vietnam – Vinaphone, MobiFone and Viettel – have confirmed that they will stop contracts with content service providers that supply sex messages and pictures.
